Blessings Card

Hello!  Today I have a fall card I made featuring my dies from Cheery Lynn Designs....looove my dies!!  I am adding to their current challenge on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog
I love how the Chicken Wire adds a hint of color and texture!
I love that the sentiments come in two different sizes so I can chose the one that best suits my card!  Here I covered my sentiment with glitter to add a bit of pizzazz to my card!
I added two layers of petals for the sunflower, then adhered the flower center with foam adhesive to give dimension to the flower.
All the leaves and flourishes were cut from white cardstock and inked with Ranger Distress Inks.  Notice how the veins of the leaves really pop when inked!

Create a Frame

Hello!  I just love the verstility of the dies from Cheery Lynn Designs!  Today's layout features the reflections and border dies combined to create a delicate frame.
Starting from top to bottom, I created the frame for my photo using Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections Boutique Mega Die, Enchanted Forest Stacker Frame, another layer of the Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections, and the beautiful Tiffany Border. The bottom layers were trimmed with the gorgeous Francesca and Queen Anne’s Lace borders.
Here is a close up of the Sweet Williams, flower center created from Build a Flower #1. Floliage from Small Leaves 2 and Flourish Leaf Strip.
I created this flower by cutting three layers of Stacker Flower #3, staggering the petals as I adhered them. Again, using parts from Build a Flower #1 to create the center. To the right of the flower is the Large Rose. Darling Daisies can be seen on the left. The leaves are from Stacker Flower #1 Leaf, Small Leaves 2, and the Princess Tree. Other dies used are the Two of Hearts, Fanciful Flourish, and Exotic Butterfly Mini.

Enchanted Forest

Hello! I'm here today with a card for Cheery Lynn Designs featuring the Enchanted Forest Frame.

Frames are an excellent addition in enhancing a photo, sentiment, stamp image, or even a rubon image. I have a very minimal stamp collection yet, however I have gathered many rubons and journaling tags!

The details of the Enchanted Forest Frame really is the perfect finishing touch to this card!

Dies used:

Instructions for the Joy Fold Card can be found at Splitcoast Stampers.

A special thank you to Phillis Gullick from Diamond Card Craft for providing the Eazi Score board used to create my card.

My Heart Flutters for You

Hello!  I'm here today with a card for Cheery Lynn Designs,  inspired by this weeks challenge, Red and White.

I created the sentiment block using Nesting Dies-Scallop Square layered with the Silver Stacker Square Classic. A butterfly from Exotic Butterfly Mini rests nicely under my sentiment.

Using a butterfly from Exotic Butterfly Small #2 as my focal point, I layered it atop the largest heart from Two of Hearts. Olive Branches creates great foliage around the butterflies as well as flowers!

I added the Fanciful Flourish as well…one of my favorites! Three Miniature Roses adorn the flourish.

A Bouquet of Love

Hello!  Today I have another Cheery Lynn Designs creation showcasing an 8x8 layout featuring the Mega Tea Party Doily.

Isn’t this doily just gorgeous?! The details are just phenomenal! What a fun texture the Cuties #1 flower adds. I inked and embossed leaves from Stacker Flowers #1 Leaf and Small Dimensional Leaves #2 to tuck under the flower. A swirl from the Fanciful Flourish gives the finishing touch.
The title is highlighted by the beautiful and delicate lacy die, Anastasia Border. Toward the bottom you can see the lovely details of the scalloped Border Carnivale.

The bouquet is centered around the flower I created using Sweet Williams. I layered about 15-20 layers of tissue paper for each size die. Yes, you can easily cut that many layers tissue paper at one time. Once cut, I attached the layers with a brad. After having the brad in place, I fluffed the layers by pulling them apart and scrunching them slightly with my fingers. To add a bit of color, I lightly rubbed the edges of the flower directly to a distress ink pad. Finishing it off, I spritzed the flower with Pearl Glimmer Mist allowing the distress ink to blend, and adding a bit of shimmer to the flower.

To the left of the flower is the Large Rose and Miniature Rose. I’ve used leaves from Stacker Flower #1 Leaf, Dimensional Small Leaves #2, Dimensional Large Leaves #2. Fanciful Flourish, Pair of Ferns, and Olive Branches make great fillers, adding nice texture and dimension. The bouquete rests atop of the Victorian Romance Flourish. Of course I had to add one of my all-time favorite Exotic Mini Butterflies!

Pumpkin Tutorial

We can't have a fall harvest without some pumpkins!!
I have for you, a tutorial to make some cute Pumpkins! I embossed mine for texture, then left them plain so I could use them through Thanksgiving. I think they would be adorable as Jack-o-lanterns too! Feel free to add faces to yours, if you like!

Now lets get started!
Gather some cardstock...orange, green scraps, brown scrap, black scraps if you wish to make a jack-o-lantern; a circle punch, stencil, or circle cutting tool; and your adhesive.

1. Cut 6-10 circles of the same size. More circles will create a fuller pumpkin. I used six 3" circles for my smaller pumpkin, and the larger is eight 4" circles. I cut scallop circles with my cricut and Storybook cartridge.

2. I inked the edges with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks for shading and dimension.

3. If you wish to emboss your circles, do so now. Next, fold your circles in half.

4. Apply adhesive to one half of your circle.

5.Lining up the edges, place the adhesive side to half of a second circle. Add the next circle to the back of the other half.

6. Repeat 4 & 5 until all the circles are attached to each other.

When all the circles are connected, you should have this.

7. To make the stem, I tightly wound a stip of brown cardstock, the glued to the top of the pumpkin. I used 1/4"x3" for the smaller pumpkin, and 3/4"x5" for the larger.

8. I cut the leaves by freehand, inked the edges, and folded for dimension. To create the green curls, I wound narrow strips around a pencil and cut them to desired length. I used a variety of green shades...just because!

9. Apply adhesive to leaves and Curls. Attach to pumpin.

Big blog hop with the girls from Dirty Scraps coming up this weekend!! Make sure you stop by for a chance to win some prizes!

Ready for a Challenge or two!

I have a couple new challenges for you today!

Both layouts posted today were created using the August Featured Kit from Life Preservers Scrapbook Kit Club.

It is time for another challenge at Dirty Scraps!

The Moment
The first year hubby and I met we were together Christmas Eve...we were talking and everything was so exciting, we ended up staying up all night until Christmas morning. Every year now we spend Christmas Eve together on the sofa or by the tree, chattering about the year and our lives until we both pass out.
The first time, it was one of those "Moments" you know those unexpected spontaneous moments that you will never forget and has changed a part of your life.
I challenge you today to look deep in your heart and find that forgotten moment, that moment you never talk about but you treasure in your heart, that moment that changed the way you saw yourself or you saw the person you were in it with.

No it does not have to be a romantic moment or a sweet moment it can be any moment you want. Good, bad, or even ugly!
Now go get DIRTY!

We have some awesome sponsors for this challenge!

COPICS and Some Odd Girl Stamps!!

As always, click on the photo for a better view! The squirrels were created from a digi stamp donated from Some Odd Girl Stamps.

My journaling reads: Not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how much one phone call would change my life. I called in search of a job. While talking with you, I discovered so much more. In your voice there was genuine sincerity…something special that helped me find the hope that I was grasping for, the confidence that had dwindled over the years, and the strength that had long ago been tucked away. You made me feel whole, important, and safe. I knew what I had to do, you drove away my fears, and gave me the power to stand on my own two feet. I called seeking a job, but in that one call I found so much more…I found life.

Now for the weekly challenge at Life Preservers Scrapbook Club. I was kindly given permission from Sketchabilities to challenge you with one of their awesome sketches! Thanks Ladies!!

Have a super scrappy weekend!!

How exciting!!

I don’t know about you, but I get sooo tired of the mind games, and the self-made drama that some people create. That is what the new Dirty Scraps Challenge is all about.
Dirty Scraps Challenge #15:
Games are for children right?
I don't think so!! From the playground and kindergarten to high school, and beyond...life's little games.
It's so easy to get caught up in emotional games,
material games, and power games as an adult.
This challenge is all about recognizing those games.
Maybe you have relationship that you are always trying to one up
each other? Or you know a friend who is always trying to drag you into their drama.
Whether we like to admit it or not, every day we face some sort of game.
So go scrap it!!

So, without further ado, my first reveal for Dirty Scraps!!

Have an awesome day!
