Detail Delight

Hello!  When decorating your home, you chose just the right accessories to compliment your eye giving your home a warm welcoming feeling.  When dressing up, you chose the accessories that compliment your outfit giving the sexy appeal you feel.   The same happens in choosing just the right embellishments (or accessories) to compliment your page.  Any way you look at it, it's all in the details you add. In working with kits from My Creative Scrapbook,  Pam fills the kits with oodles of coordinating embellishments.  I want to share with you today the difference just a few details can make.
My first layout.
I started by adding a textured background, some stitching, and a few embellishments to my layout...looks good as is.
By adding just a few more details, it  created a whole new look!

I've photographed my second layout in three stages.  A textured background, a few layers, and a couple flowers.
Already a big change in appearance by adding not only a few more embellishments, but by adding embellishments with a complimentary color!

And finally, just a few small details make a big impact!

And lastly...
a few small embellishments make it feel more complete!

Enchanted Forest

Hello! I'm here today with a card for Cheery Lynn Designs featuring the Enchanted Forest Frame.

Frames are an excellent addition in enhancing a photo, sentiment, stamp image, or even a rubon image. I have a very minimal stamp collection yet, however I have gathered many rubons and journaling tags!

The details of the Enchanted Forest Frame really is the perfect finishing touch to this card!

A special thank you to Phillis Gullick from Diamond Card Craft for providing the Eazi Score board used to create my card.

Fun Gift Set

Today I am sharing a little gift set I created using my kit from Shawn Davis Designs featuring Fancy Pants the Little Things line.

I used some Spellbindes dies to creat the background, the adhered them with foam dots for dimension.

I created the bow using the tutorial I found here.

Again, I used Spellbinders Dies to cut the background. This time I cut from Spellbinders Foil and used some black paint to give the piece and distressed feel mimicking the Memory Makers metal frame on the card.

Two more gifts Complete!

Have you worked with one of the 7Gypsies trays? You really ought to try one. I admit I was a bit intimidated at first, but I had so much fun creating these I am going to have to make one for myself now!
I wanted to do something more personable for my sons girlfriends and decided what better gift to give them than their favorite guys!
This is my younger son and since his girlfriend is 15 I wanted something with a bit of fun teen flair to it. She is planning to paint her room purple so I chose a black tray and added black, purple, and silver accents with LOTS of bling!

Since my older son and his girlfriend are quite a bit older, I went with a bit more romantic flair. I wasn’t happy with the photos I have on hand so I left some bare spots to add photos after the holidays.

Trying to keep things balanced between the girls, I kept most of the details as similar as possible. You will find lots of rubons, Spellbinders Diecuts, bling, pearls, stickles, and goodies of all sorts!

Almost there!! I just need to finish up the videos for my daycare parents!

How exciting!!

I don’t know about you, but I get sooo tired of the mind games, and the self-made drama that some people create. That is what the new Dirty Scraps Challenge is all about.
Dirty Scraps Challenge #15:
Games are for children right?
I don't think so!! From the playground and kindergarten to high school, and beyond...life's little games.
It's so easy to get caught up in emotional games,
material games, and power games as an adult.
This challenge is all about recognizing those games.
Maybe you have relationship that you are always trying to one up
each other? Or you know a friend who is always trying to drag you into their drama.
Whether we like to admit it or not, every day we face some sort of game.
So go scrap it!!

So, without further ado, my first reveal for Dirty Scraps!!

Have an awesome day!

New Challenge Posted!!

Today is Feb 15th and that means it is time for a new challenge at ScrapFit!!

Challenge #14

The Power of One is what Workout #14 is all about!
You have to do a Monochromatic LO using either pink, red, white or black!

I, of course, chose pink!!

Reminder: click on any of the photos for a larger view!

I put a rub-on on the top of an acrylic piece then wrote the journaling with a Sharpie. I used light pink paint, and a mix of shades of Ranger Distress inks to color the back.

The key is a naked pieces from Bazzill that I covered with light pink paint from Making Memories. Once the paint was dry, I covered it with a variety of shades of Ranger Distress inks. The final step, covering the key with Distress Rock Candy paint.

To add some texture, I used the cuttlebug and embossed the acrylic flourishes from Bo Bunny.

I cut the flowers from pattern paper, inked the edges, and added a bit of Ranger Distress Rock Candy paint of the edges.

Have a super scrappy day!
